B.A. in Linguistics and Computer Science


Preparation for the Major:

Required: Linguistics 20; Mathematics 31A and 31B; Philosophy 31; Computer Science 31, 32, 33 (recommended sequence), OR Program in Computing 10A/B/C and Computer Science 33, OR Program in Computing 10A/B/C and Program in Computing 30, completion of the sixth term in one foreign language or the third term in each of two foreign languages. Mathematics 61 is strongly recommended.

The Major:

Required: Twelve upper division courses as follows: Linguistics 103, 120A, 120B, 125, 165A or 165B (165B is most strongly recommended for this major), C180, C185A, Computer Science 131, 132, 161 or 163, 181, and one upper division elective in linguistics or computer science. Linguistics 104 and C185B are strongly recommended.
