PSYCHOLOGY EXPERIMENT
SUBJECT POOL

What is the psychology experiment subject pool?

Experiments involving human cognitive abilities obviously require subjects who are human. Many experiments in psychology involve language and psycholinguistic experimentation uses techniques developed for cognitive abilities other than language. As a Linguistics 1 student, you may have the opportunity to get a look at such experiments from the inside, as a subject.

If you are interested in learning about psychological research, you have the opportunity to participate in experiments through the Psychology Department Subject Pool. Serving as a subject in an experiment provides students with direct exposure to research and provides the opportunity to contribute to on-going research at UCLA while getting an inside glimpse of how research studies are conducted.

The posting and scheduling of experiments is handled via the Psychology Department Subject Pool system at http://ucla.sona-systems.com/. More information on how to use the system can be found at http://www.psych.ucla.edu/undergraduate/subject-pool-experiment-participation.

NOTE: Before signing up for experiments, you MUST select the course you are enrolled in that gives you access to the system.  Please select Ling 1 from the drop-down menu. However, please note that this course does not provide extra credit for participation in studies.
