Linguistics 191 Documenting Languages: This is a new special topics seminar, scheduled for Spring Quarter 2010. Using experiences and data collected during numerous field trips to Nigeria, the seminar will discuss what it means to "document a language", what constitutes an "endangered language", and related issues.

Chadic phonology and morphology proseminar (Winter 2002): Discussion of the phonology and interface of phonology and morphology in the closely related Bade and Ngizim languages, based on my own field research. Since teaching this course, I have done much more work on these languages.
