Prof. Kim received her B.A. in Russian Language & Literature and English Language & Literature (summa cum laude, 2005) from Seoul National University (SNU), M.A. in Applied Linguistics (2008) from SNU, in Linguistics (2012) from UCLA, and her Ph.D. in Linguistics (2015) from UCLA. She has taught as an instructor at UCLA and Pomona College. Prof. Kim came to Emory in 2015 and teaches Foundations of Linguistics (LING/ANT 201) and Language Acquisition (LING/PSYC 316).

Her research interests are in first/second language acquisition, infant speech perception and Bilingual acquisition. She is particularly interested in phonetics, phonology and morphology interface and how these linguistic subparts constrain & facilitate language acquisition.
